Well, I've been into comic book related things my whole life. I've only been actively reading and collecting since I was 11 (I'm 17 now).
When I was very little my dad used to collect comic books, but when he didn't have enough room for them he would give them to my brother and I. We like them, but we would mostly look at the pictures and draw in them (which I really wish I hadn't). Man, WE HAD EVERYTHING. I mean, you name it, we probably had 3 or 4 random issues of it. But the one person who stood out above everyone else was Batman. We LOVED Batman. Even before we got our little collection of comics, we were obsessed with the guy. We actually still are, lol.
We would also try to make comics ourselves. They were crude and didn't have dialog, but we were so proud of them, lol. I remember we would constantly ask my mom how to spell Batman (this was before we could read) so that we could put it on the "cover"... Ah, good times.
To this day I still have just about all of the comics my dad gave me when I was little, and for six years my brother and I have been walking up to Comic Relief (my LCS) and buying comics.

Stealing my brother's Generation X book out of his room, and getting beat up by him when he saw that I had been in his room.

Comic-Book realted: Batman: The Animated Series. I loved it, and STILL love it to this day.
Actual Comic-Book: the adaptation of Batman: Mask of the Phantasm.
