I don't like to burden myself or confine myself to one party. I'm an independant. It is too easy to get trapped in the "Republicans vs. Democrats", or "Democrats vs. Republicans" debacle that will only distract people from the real issues. I simply try to look for the best candidate for the job that I can feel comfortable with voting for and supporting. I'm not far left or far right. Pretty much middle of the road with a little bit of conservative on some things, maybe.

I'm VERY Conservative, in other words I'm Republican. I'm very right-winged, I'm strongly against pornography and abortion

I hate both. Though, I agree with some things from both sides.
But yeah, I hate politicians. They're just greedy old people who want our money, well most of them anyway.

Howdy all. I like this one I'm kind of a Mutt
I tend to piss everyone off. Vote Liberal Democrat Locally Fiscally Conservative Socially Liberal at the state State level And almost Libertarian at the Fed level.
No one seems to discuss the separation of authorities and other basic concepts in the in the constitution everybody is all or nothing.

On social issues i'm a Libertarian ( personal freedom, right to do what ever you want to your own damn body, etc) on economic issues I guess i'm liberal. (I really don't care if some rich prick has to pay more taxes.( I want universal health care, public schools, etc) almost half libertarian, half socialist. I don't know if there is a party that fits that.

Why not tax everyone who has a higher position in the work force then you more. And hey what about those family airlooms worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. If you have one of those we should tax you more too. Taxing someone MORE simpy because they became sucesful is rediculas. Your just assuming everyone who has money is just a ritch asshole. You know ignoring the fact that most rich people give 100s of thousands if not millions a year to charites. Lets tax them just cuz they make more money then us. Yeah that's the american spirit.

So true. Everyone has the chance to become successful, some people just choose to be lazy bums.

NO not every one that makes slightly more than I do or has a higher position at the same job deserves to pay a hell of a lot more then I do I never said that. Are your seriously expecting me to shed a tear for some multi billionaire? We need taxes, with out taxes we don't have firefighters we don't have cops we don't have public schools, roads, the post office, and a metric shit ton of other things. A flat tax does one of two things sets the bar to high and the middle class suffers or sets the bar way to low so that nobody has trouble paying them but we have no way to pay for any thing in the country. Is this an over simplification? probably, but you can't tell me that a flat tax benefits any one but the rich.

What you describe is discrimination which I BELIEVE is ilegal. Course so is buying a private sector company and the government had no problem doing that now did that.

What you describe is discrimination which I BELIEVE is ilegal. Course so is buying a private sector company and the government had no problem doing that now did that. I think ill save my compassion for the family that has to chose between asthma medication and food. As for your second point I don't know what your referring to as discrimination, I clearly came out against someone who made more then me paying an unjust amount higher than me. I also came out against the flat tax which is the only other option besides a sliding scale. I will concede that I was straw maning you a little in my second post but your third comment has NOTHING to do with the rest of the conversation. I at no time said I was for government take over of business I simply said in my first post that didn't care if some rich prick had to pay more taxes. If you had read my first post instead of trying to make me look inconsiderate to the Dow 500, or like just another lefty that hates big business!!! You would have seen that i'm mostly on your side. I believe in personal freedom I believe you should be able to alter your consciences any way you want to, you should be able to love and marry any one you want to, be able to own a house, and start a business, I just don't see a sliding tax scale as unfair and I don't see government services as "socialism".
