Do you prefer the rich prose of older writers like Charlotte Bronte or Shakespeare, or more the down-to-earth style of Stephen King or John Ajvide Lindqvist?
Do you like third-person literature or first-person, or even second-person?
How much description do you like in your novels (this doesn't really apply to visual mediums like comics and movies, even if they have narrative)? Would you rather have non-stop action, uninterrupted by description, or would you rather pause to take in the environment? A mixture of both perhaps?
Do you get annoyed when the narrator poses questions in the book (ex: "How did she expect me to know the answer to the problem on the board? I was asleep, and she knew it.") or does it make you feel more engaged to the text?
Do you like heroes/protagonists whose loyalties are more defined, or do you prefer "anti-heroes" that are more morally ambiguous?
Would you rather choose to flesh-out characters if it meant it would weaken a plot twist, or would you rather have a more satisfying surprise?
Feel free to answer as many questions as you'd like or pose your own for others to answer. No, by that I don't mean, "What is the goddamned point of this thread?"

I like down to earth style but still enjoy shakesphere. I love a mix between non-stop action and pausing to take in the enviroment. Ilike third-persion because it just seems more real to me. I get a little annoyed when a narrator poses a question. I like heroes whose loyalties are more defined, but sometimes are morally ambiguous, for example Angel. I like fleshing out characters, so that when stuff does happen...you care.

Fictional stories, I'm about half way between the hero and antihero thing. I cant really say what style of fiction i like, I've liked everything I've read. I guess i appreciate the work that goes into a story. Im not quick to bash a writer or the decisions they make.
