Comics. Simply because they are a better investments. Trades are easy but there is no fun in trades. However, in terms of immediate purchase, trades are better. Especially during sales at your local comic shop.
but over all, comics win.

And comics today aren't worth much. I think the most a "rare" comic from the past 30 years will go for is 50 maybe 75 bucks. And thats sealed and mint. So unless they all go in the garbage like the old ones from the 60s it will be worth it. But so many people think they are gunna be billionares and they buy 10 copys of Hulk 600 and it's worth nothing because there are so many comics put in circulation.

you know what killed rare issues is when companies make reprint after reprint after reprint take the obama issue marvel made so many reprints that the value of he issue went down!

Individual comics are a wayyyy bigger investment. First of all, trades have NO resale value, only on ebay and you sell for wayyyy cheaper. Secondly green lanters from 30 years ago are worth from like 100 to 1000 dollars depending on the issue. yea i agree that they are being way over printed right now but i do think that as for supporting the medium and your local comic shop, buy the comics and hold on to them, take care of them and who knows maybe you get something that would be worth more in the long run. the simple fact is that they both have their advantages, resale ability goes to comics, easy read goes to trades. If you can man up about reading your shit and if you have the attention span of an normal adult than you should be able to keep up.

collectings dead yeah us fanboys can rush to the shop so the last copy of old man logan doesnt sell out but really? if it was we could wait for the inevitabel reprint and with the sell out guess what the books only gona be worth 30 bucks tops on eBay for the next 3 months or so after that youlle probabley end up with a book worth 7 if your lucky same with figures the reason oldschool joes are so expensive is that people had no idea in 30 years a 3 dollar investemnt could get them 1200 dollars us fanboys can collect every single figure and issue but when it comes down to resell you could sell your whole run of green arrow vol 2 1-75 for 75 dollars shipped on eBay thats not even cover price back hell thats not a buck an issue for staying in comics is the nostalgia factor and plain out fun every issue of the sinestro corps war I was at the shop talking to other guys about what happend in the issue as people would say shut up Im waiting for the trade but really in the long run if all you want is the story and your not impatient trades win

Yeah because 30 years ago people didn't know they'd be valuable so they treated them pourly or threw them away. NOW everyone thinks they will be worth alot and they aren't because everyone thinks that. Comics lose for rereadablity because they fall apart much easier and faster then a trade.

not to mention the fact sometimes comics have manufacturing flaws example I picked up flash rebirth 4 yesterday and on one page the text ink is barely visible and back when the current iron man series put out its 13 variant covers marvel mass produced the hell out of those so a lot of the books had missing stapels wich also lowered the value
