While the book does have flaws, I still really enjoy it and would recommend it.

i really like this book. I think the art style really fits the dark humor of the series. The first story arc was a lot of fun and it seems they are setting it up for some interesting ones in the future.

so what did everyone think about the first arc of Chew? I thought it was a solid first arc for the series. It introduced the hero and his power in an interesting first issue and finished the last one by introducing a major rival/villain creating a lot of room to grow. It also introduced the major problem of the bird flu conspiracy. Not only did they introduce the major problem but they started to give us little pieces of the puzzle throughout the separate issues without detracting from the overall story in the single issues ie (weird fruit with the mexican care taker, the earth like planet and what happened to it) Also I'm looking forward to them expanding on the side characters (his old partner, Amelia, and the Serbian who hasn't appeared but they keep mentioning) Cant wait for the next one.
