I grew up reading comics that didn't have the Sentry in it. I got back into it and there he is. Acting as if he had always been there without explanation.
Did I completely miss out on something?
Maybe this should be a generational Question because I didn't grow up with him? Too me it comes across like Sentry is just an annoying Superman rip off because Marvel dropped the ball with making Thor popular.
Anyone else ball park close to thinking that or am I alone?

I know very little about the Sentry, but I don't think it's a terrible idea for Marvel to have a SM clone, just as long as he isn't paraded around like the Man of Steel.

Sentry sucks. I heard his original graphic novel was amazing, then Bendis came along & ruined him. Making a little crybaby b****. I hope during Siege that he dies or the Void takes over.

Sentry was released as if he was a forgotten character from the silver age. This was half marketing ploy half plot point. The idea was that every character in the marvel universe had had the sentry erased from their mind, including us as the audience. The original series explores why this happened. Now he rips people in half or throws them into space.
